Co-sponsored by Academic Affairs and Information Technology Services in the Chancellor’s Office, this cross-functional advisory committee has convened to advise on operationalizing CSU guidelines and policy recommendations on generative AI with a focus on teaching, learning, & scholarship; applications for enhanced productivity; information technology, security, and privacy; procurement and AI-enabled features in enterprise systems; and implications for copyright and intellectual property.
Systemwide Generative AI Advisory Committee
Objectives and Responsibilities
The purpose of this advisory committee is to:
- Update guidance and policy recommendations to reflect the continually evolving AI landscape
- Assess progress on the 2024 committee recommendations, and identify new recommendations as needed
- Support creation and refinement of shared frameworks for AI tool evaluation and adoption
- Support enhancement of faculty and staff AI capabilities
- Use data & community input to guide AI recommendations, frameworks and efforts
- Develop recommendations for 2026 and beyond
