“Recent advances in AI training and inferencing, driven by open source and deep research, now promise to put the power and potential of AI into the hands of people like you and me, students, professors, employees, private citizens, leading us away from an over-reliance of whom it is that controls massive data center investments and massive AI models. This democratization of AI will open up entirely new and more accessible avenues for end user innovation and gradually wrestle the control of AI away from a few giant firms around the globe. Organizationally, the CSU’s WAB initiative plays an important role in strengthening this trend towards greater equity, access, and democratic control, and opening up new opportunities for California’s economies and diverse workforces”― Jan Kenneth Gravesen
